STEVEN PASSFIELD

Steven is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who provides a calming presence to aid individuals understand and resolve their struggles within a relaxed environment. Steven emphasises the individuality of each client to ensure that they are seen as more than a diagnosis and receive an intervention tailored to their needs.
Steven has completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) and Master of Clinical Psychology. He has had experience working within public and private settings.
He has a particular interest in working with individuals on sexuality and gender identity and with couples on relationship difficulties. Steven utilises an array of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
Steven works with a range of client concerns and psychological difficulties, including:
Addictions including alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, gambling, online gaming, pornography and more
Chronic health, palliative care and end of live concerns
Couples therapy
Emotion regulation concerns
Anxiety and Stress
Depression and low mood
Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, including complex trauma
Adjustment to serious illness or injury and more
Notably, Steven has experience working in Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD), Palliative Care, and Medical Rehabilitation services within NSW Health to address complex psychosocial challenges, including addiction, death/dying, and adjustment to serious illness/injury.
