RACHEL POLLARD

Rachel is a clinical psychologist, who’s approach to therapy is trauma informed, warm, and non-judgemental. She ensures compassionate, empathetic care, regardless of presentation or concern. Rachel enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults. She has previous experience working in both education and private practice settings.

Rachel has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) at the Australian Catholic University (ACU), and both a Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science and Master of Psychology (Clinical) at Bond University. She holds full registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi).   

Rachel provides psychological treatment the people experiencing the following mental health concerns:

  • Anxiety disorders including Panic Disorder, Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety and Generalised Anxiety

  • Depression and low mood

  • Stress and burnout

  • Low self esteem

  • Eating disorders in adults, including anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorders

  • Perinatal mental health

  • Body image concerns

  • Personality disorders including Borderline Personality Disorder

  • Neurodevelopmental Disorders

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Bereavement, Grief and Loss

  • Chronic pain and more.

Rachel also works with individuals who are simply motivated to improve their overall wellbeing and quality of life. This may include support in managing stress, improving sleep, regulating emotion, managing pain, setting boundaries, developing self-esteem, or navigating difficult relationships.

In her clinical work, Rachel utilises a range of evidence-based treatment modalities, dependent on each client’s unique needs. Predominantly practicing within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) frameworks, Rachel also draws upon other modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-Enhanced (CBT-E), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to foster meaningful, long-lasting change.

Rachel works specifically with people who have perinatal mental health concerns, and has completed additional specialist training in this area. She works with mothers, fathers and families throughout pregnancy, birth and early stages of childhood. She assists with mental health concerns including but not limited to:

  • perinatal anxiety

  • perinatal depression

  • postpartum psychosis

  • birth trauma

  • fertility issues

  • adjustment issues and more.
