Perinatal Mental Health Services
Pregnancy and new parenthood can be full of joy — but they can also bring fear, sadness, overwhelm, and uncertainty. The first year after giving birth can bring major physical, hormonal, and emotional changes — and it’s very common to feel overwhelmed or unlike yourself.
At AUSIHW, clinical psychologist Rachel Pollard has particular interest and training in perinatal mental health — offering a safe, supportive space to navigate the emotional ups and downs that can come with fertility challenges, pregnancy, birth, and life after baby.
Rachel utilises a range of therapy approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) frameworks, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-Enhanced (CBT-E), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to foster meaningful, long-lasting change.
