VANESSA WALKER

Psychologist in Kogarah
Vanessa is a Registered Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar who values creating a non-judgemental and collaborative space where individuals feel heard, understood and supported. Guided by trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming principles, she is passionate about tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs, strengths and goals.

Vanessa believes in an authentic and inclusive approach and takes the time to understand each individual’s perspectives, circumstances and what they hope to achieve through therapy. Drawing on a range of evidence-based therapeutic strategies, she works with clients to develop a clearer understanding of themselves and the challenges they are facing, while building skills that can be applied in everyday life. Vanessa supports clients to explore their experiences with curiosity, make changes that feel meaningful, and find ways to move forward when they feel stuck.

Vanessa completed her Bachelor of Psychological Science at the University of New South Wales, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Advanced Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney, and then her Master of Clinical Psychology degree from the Institute of Social Neuroscience.

Vanessa works with children, teens and adults who experience varying mental health concerns, including and related to:

  • Depression and low mood

  • Neurodiverse experiences and conditions including ADHD and Autism

  • Anxiety including Generalised Anxiety, Social Anxiety, and Panic Disorder

  • Relationship and communication challenges

  • Trauma and/or PTSD

  • Obessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Personality disorders including Borderline Personality Disorders

  • Emotional regulation difficulties

  • Stress and burnout

  • Low self-esteem and more

Vanessa sees clients for psychological therapy at our clinic in Kogarah, or via telehelath on the following days:

Wednesday: 9am-5pm

Thursday: 12pm-6pm
